Justice with Healing Roundtable
New Ways to Justice (Justice with Healing) to be held in Sarajevo, Bosnia from October 14-17, 2010.
Nuna Zvidic and the Zene Zenema will be the hosts for the days of the roundtable:
Nuna Zvidic (Bosnia), Stasa Zajovic (Serbia) and Biljana Kasic (Croatia) will soon begin to prepare the Court of Women in the Balkans (2012); they were a part of the India international roundtable on New Notions, New Ways to Justice and are on the working group on the issue of justice; this is the first step.
On the list and also at the roundtable is Nelia Sancho (Philippines) long time ally from the Asian Women’s Human Rights Council, Yvette Abrahams (South Africa) who brought expert testimony to the World Court on Racism in South Africa (2002), Eman Khammas who brought expert testimony to the World Court on US War Crimes in India (2004), Vichuta Ly who brought expert testimony to the South East Asia Court on Trafficking and Migration in Indonesia (2009), Ethel Long-Scott who is on the core group to prepare and hold the World Court on Poverty and Homelessness in the US (2011/2012); and still awaiting a confirmation from the sisters in Colombia who are not as yet decided who will participate; as you perhaps know we have been preparing (for many years) the Colombia Court of Women Against Forgetting and For Re-existence now scheduled for 2011...
Among the considerations: restorative justice as different from a retributive justice? Can we find a justice that will restore dignity for us all?"We, the poor, jobless, downsized, uninsured victims of welfare reform and others abused by the institutions of domination are no longer silent. We are moving forward with the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Fannie Lou Hamer, and so many freedom fighters to improve the lives of Americans."
